Overview

The Resilient Leader Initiative provides a systematic approach to experienced-based leader development in the local church and beyond.  Together  with reflection on their leadership as experienced by others, reflection on their leadership strengths and the support of a development coach, clergy are able to reimagine ministry for the years ahead.

The Resilient Leader Initiative enables clergy to be agile enough to serve in various places within the church, nimble enough to know “what to do when they don’t know what to do” and able to create and trust partnerships with the laity of the church to foster settings and spaces where people can deepen the journey of discipleship, regardless of where they are in the transformation process.

As a result of this initiative, clergy increase:

  • Self Knowledge of their own leadership behaviors
  • Increased competency in effective leadership behaviors
  • Learning agility to prepare for and step into new levels of leadership responsibility
  • Connection to colleagues for mutual support and accountability.

Ultimately this builds the individual’s resilience for life-long fruitful ministry, creates a culture of intentional behavioral development of clergy leaders, and establishes formal development plans for added accountability. The emphasis on leadership behaviors takes us from a place of informational learning (“what are the 5 steps to equip and empower laity?”), to transformational learning (“what are the behaviors of a leader who equips and empowers others?”)
